Municipal tax freeze

townhall

One of the commitments made by the town hall of Fuengirola their austerity plan of 2008 was to not increase the local taxes property owners pay on their properties.

Since then the IBI has not increased at all, not even to keep track of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). It has been confirmed that this situation will continue for the foreseeable future.

Other taxes (refuse removal, terrace tax for businesses, etc…) are likely to see increases of 4% to take into account the increase in living standards (according to the CPI) since August 2008.

Certain public services such as sport centres, public transport, etc… will see an increase in prices of around 10%.

The reason for these increases is due to the rising costs of fuel and electricity.

It is also worth noting that residents registered a living in Fuengirola will continue to receive the 30% on all municipal taxes on their residential properties.
